Following our design concept of “people emotion,” we used a split-level design to interconnect separate spaces within the building and create a dynamic atmosphere.
Volkswagen
Nestled near Jiu Xian Qiao, right off Beijing’s northeast fourth ring, the Volkswagen Experience Center “Indigo” is MetaDesign’s first architectural project, putting us in charge of landscape design, lighting design, interior design, and even staff uniform design.
The building’s façade is composed of aluminum panels that wrap around the structure. Twisted at 0- to 90-degree angles and gradually opening to let in just the right amount of light, the façade becomes breathable with a great sense of flow.
The interior is highlighted with Barrisol lights and curved balustrades that stretch rhythmically into all directions, gracefully guiding visitors into a bright open space.
