The Munich Security Conference is the world's foremost forum for debating international security policy. Serving as a crucial platform for diplomatic initiatives that address global security concerns, it has become increasingly significant in today's complex world. In partnership with MetaDesign, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) has continually evolved its brand experience since 2020, achieving a consistent brand representation across all channels and touchpoints including analog, digital, literature, motion, and event.

Celebrating 60 Years with a Jubilee Exhibition

In anticipation of the 60th conference in 2024, the MSC unveiled a comprehensive exhibition at Amerikahaus in Munich. This extensive showcase traces the conference's history and commemorates its most memorable "Munich moments" from the past six decades. Our team contributed to the development of the concept and exhibition design, which spans across three floors in both 2D and 3D formats. The immersive setup enables visitors to explore the MSC's rich history while delving into key current and future security issues.

Introducing the Jubilee Logo

A special "Jubilee Logo" was created based on the new corporate logo, featuring concentric elements of the symbol intertwined with a typographic "6." The logo and festive orange color clearly signify the momentous anniversary the MSC is celebrating in 2024.

Revamping the Website

We also undertook a visual and UX overhaul of the website, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive redesign. The new homepage boldly reflects the brand identity and serves as a bold entry point.

Publications and Reports

The annual conference publication is updated and presented each February. After a complete redesign in 2020, we have further refined the layout for the anniversary report in 2024. The result is a compelling, accessible, and comprehensive presentation of vital information on global security crises and issues, making it a must-read for anyone seeking reliable insights.

The new brand identity was publicly launched with the 2020 Munich Security Report "Zeitenwende Wendezeiten" at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. In collaboration with Saatchi Studio, we have also developed additional publications, including the "Germany Report" and "Stability Report."

A Reinvigorated Brand

As the conference has expanded over the years to encompass a broader range of security-related topics, its brand appearance needed an update to reflect this growth and global relevance. The new brand design captures the grandeur and significance of the MSC, inspiring trust and creating a powerful overall impression through minimalistic aesthetics.

The updated logo represents a democratic forum with a flexible arrangement of concentric segments, symbolizing an equal exchange of diverse perspectives in accordance with the Munich Rule. The design evokes the seating arrangement of parliamentary architecture.
